Description Perennials. rhizomes slender, long stolon. Stems 20-40 cm tall, slightly slender, upwardly scabrous, trigonous. Leaves light green, longer than stems or nearly equaling, flat, 2-4 mm wide, scabrous on margins. Basal sheaths pale brown, slightly long, disintegrating into fibers. Bracts leaflike, longer than inflorescences, sheathless. Inflorescences terminal spikes male, linear cylindrical, shortly pedunculate or sessile, 1.5-2.5 cm long; lateral spikes female, shortly cylindrical, 1.2-2.5 cm long, densely flowered. Staminate scales brown, lanceolate-oblong, apex acuminate. Pistillate scales pale green, apex acute or shortly aristate. Perigynia ovate, longer than pistillate scales, 3-3.5 mm long, horizontally patent, apex abruptly narrowed into a short beak, 0.5-0.8 mm long, mouth shortly 2-toothed. Description Perennials. rhizomes slender, long stolon. Stems 20-40 cm tall, slightly slender, upwardly scabrous, trigonous. Leaves light green, longer than stems or nearly equaling, flat, 2-4 mm wide, scabrous on margins. Basal sheaths pale brown, slightly long, disintegrating into fibers.
