Description Perennial. caespitose, rhizome short. Stems 25–50 cm tall, scabrous above. Leaves shorter than stems, flat, margins serrulate, 1–1.5 mm wide, membranous side of leaf sheath transversely wrinkled. Basal sheaths pale brown. Involucral bracts scalelike, ovate or oblong, awned at apex. Inflorescences spicate inflorescence, cylindric, 3–4.5 cm long, 1–1.3 cm wide. Spikes androgynous, ovate, 5–8 mm long. Staminate scales brown, apex acuminate. Pistillate scales brown, ovate, ca. 3 mm long, apex acuminate. Perigynia longer than pistillate scales, narrowly ovate or lanceolate-ovate, plano-convex, 3–3.5 mm long, ca. 1 mm wide, many veined on both faces, margins narrow wings, apex gradually narrowed into a long beak, upper margins of beak slightly scabrous, mouth bidentate. Description Perennial. caespitose, rhizome short. Stems 25–50 cm tall, scabrous above.
