Translation The culm is triangular at the base, with a hollow monostachia, its linear flat edges serrated at the margin. The spike is ovate, terminal, pale yellowish: with two basal bracts that are ovate, acuminate and provided with a green vein. The leaves are long, or slightly shorter, flat, linear, striated, with a serrated margin. The culm is high, triangular, covered at the base with leaf sheaths, bare above. The scales are six, imbricate, pressed, glabrous, which Mühlenberg indicates, I could not find in a dry specimen, although the filaments have the appearance of scales. [details]
