Description Perennials. caespitose. Stems 10-20 cm tall, ca. 0.3 mm wide, trigonous, scabrous at base of upper spikes. Leaves ca. 1 mm wide, pale green, slightly scabrous. Basal sheaths pale brown. Inflorescence solitary at terminal, androgynous, ovoid or orbicular, 3-5 mm long, 3-4 mm wide. Staminate scales pale brown, apex obtuse. Pistillate scales caducous, apex obtuse to acute. Perigynia longer than pistillate scales, oblong ovoid, 2-2.5 mm long, 1-1.2 mm wide, ascending to reflexed at maturity, vein indistinct, compressedly trigonous, shortly beaked, glabrous, mouth notched.
