Description This hybrid is closer to C. canescens, especially in its medium to small stature. It differs further from C. paniculata in its pale basal sheaths, its much shorter, separated inflorescence and its smaller, unwinged utricles. From C. canescens it can be distinguished by its tussocky habit, its generally greater height, its broader, thicker leaves, and its ovate-triangular female glumes. It differs from both in its often shrivelled and empty utricles. [details]
